Piano, Dununs & Djembes
I used to get my djembes in Abidjan from Mamady Camara at the Adjame market in Abidjan, till he passed away a few years ago. I got a nice one from Bouake, another from Conakry.
I got my dununs and two more djembes from David Mühlemann, a swiss guy who lives in Conakry and sells first class instruments. Some of my sticks made by Dieye Sow at the Collobane market in Dakar, are more than twenty years old. Olivier François took my precious bells back from Upper Guinea.
I own a Yamaha Disklavier piano.
Computers & Softwares
I began to use softwares and Apple computers in the late 80'. I was an Opcode Studion Vision and Overture user, until they were bought in a package by the Gibson Guitar Corporation who decided to discontinue their development. Concerning audio I switched to Logic Studio. I kept using Overture for notation (which was re-issued by Cakewalk
then Geniesoft) during years and I finally moved on Sibelius which is drastically more complicated but gives a better output.
I set up this website with Rapidweaver and Photoshop.

Djembe students are generally non-sheet readers so I ended using a modified version of Michael Petters' djembefont system in my pedagogical written material, and it works very well. I customized Michael's font to meet my sharpest writing needs and more conventional aesthetic criterias.
